Until The End ~
There have always been two Napa Valley wines I felt compelled to make. Once Blue Monster was blended, barreled and coming to fruition, work began on what I called my "second" wine: Until the End. This label salutes the unwavering loyalty of the ancestors of the Cane Corso who stood strong at the sides of the Roman legionnaires, come what may.
I wanted to craft a wine that honors the history of Bordeaux and its noble grapes, while staying true to my love affair with Napa Valley. Unlike the single-varietal Blue Monster, Until the End is a Napa Valley Proprietary Blend, its rich complexity celebrates the art, patience, and precision of the blend. Until the End requires an exacting attention to detail, and unflagging diligence throughout the production process. While it may be technically be my "second" wine, when it comes to dedication and the vineyards in its lineage, it's far from second.
Sitting 1200 feet above Napa Valley overlooking Lake Hennessy and Pritchard Hill sits the source of our Cabernet Sauvignon. This property is special in its ability to showcase its visitors the challenges that one must face and overcome in order to farm such a high elevation property with over 100 untouched natural woodland that surrounds the small vineyard adding more biodiversity to the property. Planted exclusively to Cabernet Sauvignon this 4.57 acre vineyard sits on a bed of Hambrigh and Guenoc that produces extremely small yields; 2 tons/acre in the best of vintages.
Until the End is a Proprietary Blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon as the mastiff’s share typically accounting for 85% or more joined with ancillary amounts of traditional noble Bordeaux varietals; Merlot, Petit Verdot and/or Cabernet Franc sourced from neighboring Napa Valley vineyards.

The heart and soul of our wine lays in the Cabernet Sauvignon which hails from a vineyard planted into iron rich Colluvium deposits and fractured volcanic rock over 15 years ago. Forward thinking and sustainable viticultural practices employed on the property allow for the vines to flourish while keeping yields extremely low and the quality of the fruit to the magnitude of our standards.
The 2016 vintage offers a breadth of cherries, crushed violets, licorice, and undertones of chocolate. The tannins are supple and offer a long silky finish.
